  • HOW LONG HAS SEARCY BUILDING SYSTEMS BEEN IN BUSINESS?
    This is Searcy Building Systems first year in business as a furnish and erect company. Although the company itself is young, it is owned and operated by seasoned industry professionals. Together we have 120 years of combined experience in all phases of construction of pre-engineered metal buildings.
  • WHEN WILL I GET MY DRAWINGS?
    Permit drawings typically arrive 2-3 weeks after the building order has been placed.
  • DO I NEED TO VERIFY MY LOCAL BUILDING CODES?
    SBS Engineering department has all State codes at its disposal; however, it is always safest to check with your local inspector as they are privy to the local topography and weather patterns. It is highly recommended that you speak with your local officials as local code requirements may vary.
  • WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH MY BUILDING DRAWINGS?
    Your metal building drawings include 3 copies of stamped anchor bolt and permit drawings, it does not include foundation drawings. Searcy Building Systems can price foundation plans to you in most states for a nominal fee.
  • DOES MY BUILDING COME WITH ANCHOR BOLTS?
    Your anchor bolts are the responsibility of your concrete contractor. SBS will spell out the quantity, diameters and projection out of the concrete on your anchor bolt plans so that you will know exactly what you should purchase.
  • WILL SEARCY BUILDING SYSTEMS PULL MY BUILDING PERMITS?
    Permits are the responsibility of the owner. Please let us know if you need full contracting services; however, as we are happy to discuss other options.
  • CAN YOU ERECT MY BUILDING?
    We can arrange for an independent erection crew to install your building. Many of our customers either put up the buildings themselves or make arrangements for a local crew to erect.
  • WHAT DO I NEED TO UNLOAD MY BUILDING?
    You will need equipment that can lift up to 5000 lbs to unload your building material. It will be your responsibility to unload the material if you are coordinating your own crew to erect your metal building. If Searcy Building Systems is going to refer a crew to erect your building, and your concrete is ready when delivery occurs, the crew will unload the building. If your concrete is not ready at the time of delivery, it will be your responsibility to unload the materials.
  • AM I RESPONSIBLE TO UNLOAD THE TRUCK UPON DELIVERY?
    If you are planning to have an erection crew referred by Searcy Building Systems to erect your building, and your concrete is ready when delivery occurs, the crew will unload the building. If your concrete is not ready at the time of delivery, it will be your responsibility to unload the materials. If you are coordinating the erection of your building, it will be your responsibility to unload the materials. You will need equipment that can lift up to 5000 lbs to unload the steel.
  • HOW WILL THE MATERIAL BE LOADED ON THE TRUCK?
    The material will be stacked professionally and evenly with 2' x 4' boards included between building pieces to allow for easy removal with a forklift.
  • WILL MY BUILDING AND ACCESSORIES DELIVER ON THE SAME TRUCK?
    No. The building arrives on one truck. Large doors such as roll up doors or overhead doors as well as insulation are delivered on separate trucks as these are buy-out items.

Labor Crew Questions

  • DOES SBS HAVE SOMEONE WHO CAN ERECT MY BUILDING?
    Should you need it, Searcy Building Systems can refer experienced independent contractors to install your building.
  • WILL THE CREW BE ONSITE WHEN THE BUILDING DELIVERS?
    Yes, they will be there on the delivery date to unload your building. Typically they will begin erecting the building that same day, providing your concrete is ready.
  • DO THE ERECTION CREWS HAVE ANY KIND OF INSURANCE?
    Yes, all crews have General Liability and Workers Compensation insurance.
  • WHAT DO I NEED TO FOR THE CREW WHEN THEY ARRIVE ONSITE?
    The crews will need either electrical hook up or a generator at the jobsite.
  • DO I NEED TO RENT ANY EQUIPMENT FOR THE CREW?
    No, your labor price includes equipment rental.
